The lifespan of your reverse osmosis filters is pivotal to ensuring the continued quality and purity of your drinking water. The precise timing for replacement can vary, primarily due to individual water usage and the quality of the feed water. Generally, we recommend assessing your filters for replacement every 6 to 18 months.
For households with higher water consumption or those whose incoming water contains higher levels of contaminants, a closer interval towards the 6-month mark may be necessary to maintain optimal performance. Conversely, for lower usage levels and better quality feed water, your system's filters could perform excellently up to 18 months.
We encourage our customers to monitor their water's taste, odor, and clarity as indicators of when a filter change might be due. Regular maintenance not only ensures the highest quality water but also prolongs the life of your reverse osmosis system.

Understanding the quality of your water is the first step towards ensuring it meets your needs for purity and safety. For many of our customers, a comprehensive understanding of their water's composition begins with reviewing their local city water quality reports. These reports are routinely published and provide valuable insights into the water supply's condition, helping you identify specific contaminants that may be present.
Additionally, resources such as the Environmental Working Group (EWG) offer detailed databases and tools that allow you to search for water quality information specific to your area. These resources can be instrumental in making informed decisions about water treatment needs.
While having an in-home water test is not strictly necessary, it can offer a more detailed and personalized analysis of your water. This step is especially beneficial if you have concerns that are not fully addressed by your local water quality report or if you source your water from a well, which might have different contamination risks compared to municipal water.
Opting for an in-home water test provides precise information tailored to your specific water source, enabling a more targeted approach to water treatment and filtration solutions. Although it is an additional step, it empowers you with the knowledge to select the most effective treatment options for your home.
